Dam Good Run 2026

Scenic Miles. Big Views. One Unforgettable Run. 🏁🏃‍♂️📸
Get ready for one of the most unique race experiences in Eastern Oregon — because the Dam Good Run isn’t just another out-and-back on a sidewalk. This race gives you front-row views of the Columbia River AND the rare chance to run on top of the McNary Dam (yes, really). That section is normally closed to the public, which makes this basically a VIP cardio experience.
We’re hosting both a 5K and 10K that start and finish at West Park (on 3rd Street, just ½ mile west of the Fish Viewing Room on the Oregon side of the McNary Dam). The event will be chip timed by Eastern Oregon Sports Training, with results available online immediately after you finish — perfect for bragging rights.
👕 Race Swag
All participants who register by April 25, 2025 will receive a short-sleeved Dam Good Run T-shirt.
*We do order extra shirts, but runners who register after April 26 are not guaranteed a shirt. Procrastinators beware.
👧 Kids Run Free!
Thanks to a grant from UEC and support from local sponsors, kids ages 13 and under race FREE!
Kids can register online and will receive:
– An official race bib w/ chip timing
– Recorded race results
Basically: full race experience, zero entry fee. Big win.

🗺️ Course Details
5K Course
The 5K is an out-and-back route that starts at West Park and heads east up the hill toward the McNary Dam entrance. Runners will travel about halfway across the dam, turn around, and cruise back downhill to the finish at West Park.
10K Course
The 10K follows the same route as the 5K up to the dam and back downhill. Once runners reach the Fish Viewing Room, they’ll continue north toward the Columbia River and loop through the clearly marked Nature Trails.
One aid station provided around the 3.5-mile mark
Finish line is back at West Park
