SUMMARY:Open Water River Swims
DESCRIPTION:OPEN WATER RIVER SWIMS! To help you get ready for our local triathlons\, including the 70.3 in September\, we will have open water river swims on Friday and Saturday mornings starting June 21 at 8:00 am. Meet at the public parking lot just upstream (north) of 178 Bradly Blvd in Richland and we will carpool up to the start at Howard Amon Park.  After we swim back down\, you can use the warm water hose in Eric’s driveway to warm up and get the river muck off you and your wetsuit! \nSome important notes about these swims.  There is NO LIFEGUARD for these swims.  If you show up to swim it means that you are capable of doing the swim without help from others.  We may have an escort kayak/paddle board every now and then\, but don’t count on that.  Secondly\, especially since we won’t always have an escort kayak\, you must swim with a swim safety buoy to provide extra visibility to the boaters on the river.  A brightly colored pool toy tethered to your ankle works\, but the SaferSwimmer buoy (or other brands) usually have a dry bag within the buoy that is mighty handy for storing flops\, keys\, and whatever during your swim. \nForward any questions to Eric at sageg@charter.net.

SUMMARY:Run the River Marathon Relay Half Marathon 5k
DESCRIPTION:Sign up at Delta Endurance LLC – Run the River Marathon \nCome join us for the 2nd annual Run the River Marathon and Relay\, starting at Columbia Park in Kennewick\, WA. This road race features a scenic course that travels through the towns of Kennewick\, Richland\, and Pasco all while staying next to the mighty Columbia River. \nThis classic road marathon follows paved paths and roadways the entire time and offers participants with great views of 3 beautifully landscaped parks\, the meandering Columbia River\, as well as the rugged surrounding mountains. The flat course and cool spring weather will provide runners with a prime opportunity for a fast finish time if that is their goal. Likewise\, the course lends itself well to runners of all abilities as well as walkers… which tend to have the best time out there! For those that aren’t wanting the full marathon distance – gather up some friends and the 4 person relay option\, which follows the same course. Segment distances will vary between 4 and 9 miles so you can build an optimal team. New for this year will be a half marathon and a 5k that also run along the river. These will start after the marathon and relay and will be out and back routes with the turnaround located at the halfway point. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOverview\nRegistration is now open! \nCome join us for the 2nd annual Run the River Marathon\, starting at Columbia Park in Kennewick\, WA. \nFor those that aren’t wanting the full marathon distance\, there are a few options.  You can gather up some friends and do the 4–person relay option\, which covers the entire marathon course\, or you can do the half marathon or 5k options instead.   \nSpring in the Tri-Cities can bring a mix of sun\, rain\, and wind – it just depends on the year.  Please watch the forecasts as it gets closer to race day to make sure you are prepared.  Since the course makes a large loop\, any wind encountered should only be for a limited time. Over the last twenty years\, the temperature at start time has varied between 43°F and 62°F\, with an average of 51°F. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRegister Now! \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLocation \n\nThe start/finish line is located at the following coordinates: 46.2233\, -119.14675. \nThe start/finish area is located at the eastern end of Columbia Park in Kennewick\, WA with a number of parking lots available within 1/2 mile walk.   \nColumbia Park is easily accessed from the westbound lanes of Highway 240\, and also from Columbia Park Trail coming either from the west or east.   \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSchedule \n\nThe start time for both the marathon and relay will be 8:00 am and the course will close at 2:00 pm.  If you need more time\, you can start early at 7:00 am\, although you will not be eligible for awards.  If you need even more time than that\, please reach out and we will try and make suitable arrangements but note that starting at any time other than 7 or 8 requires previous approval.  \nThe start time for the half marathon will be 9:00 am and then the 5k race will start at 9:30 am.  No early starts are available for either of those distances. \nPreregistered runners can pickup their numbers and goodies on Friday April 19th from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm at Runners Soul in Kennewick (5020 W Clearwater Ave).  In-person registration will also be available at this time – please plan to pay with cash\, check\, or Venmo.   \nRace numbers can also be picked up race morning starting at 6:30 am at the start/finish area.  In-person registration will be available up until 30 minutes before the race start time. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCourse \n\nThis flat and fast course is on the roads and paved paths along the Columbia River in all three cities\, with the start/finish line at the Lampson Pits in Columbia Park.   \nParticipants will start heading west along Columbia Park Trail in Kennewick and will then turn north on the Sacajawea Heritage Trail to head into Richland.  After going under the I-182 Bridge\, the course continues north on the Riverfront Trail path until a turnaround point in Howard Amon park.  After completing the out & back section\, participants will cross the bridge into Pasco and head east on Court Street until turning onto the Sacajawea Heritage Trail and entering Chiawana Park.  The course will continue east\, passing the Blue Bridge\, and will then turn left onto 9th Avenue\, where participants will loop around and cross the river on the east side of the Cable Bridge.  Once reaching the Kennewick side of the river\, the course will head west on the the Sacajawea Heritage Trail until participants turn onto Clover Island for a short out and back.  After turning back onto the Sacajawea Heritage Trail westbound\, participants will head back into Columbia Park\, and wind back around to finish where the race started.   \nThe course elevation varies between 350 and 400 feet above sea level with the total elevation gain being under 410 feet.  Most\, if not all\, of the elevation gain is encountered when going over the river on the bridges so be prepared for these short climbs. \nThe course will not be closed so please be considerate to other trail users.  Announce when you will be passing someone\, stay to the right when you are not passing\, and make sure to say hi to folks you see – especially the volunteers!  Cyclists will be leading the front runners throughout the race and we will have a group of folks sweeping the course after the last person. \nThe relay option will start and finish at the same location\, and follow the same course\, as the individual marathon.  There will be four unequal legs where the lengths are 8.1\, 7.6\, 4.0\, and 6.5 miles and the transition points are located at the Bradley Blvd parking lot in Richland (46.267454\, -119.260886)\, at the NW parking lot of Chiawana Park in Pasco (46.247861\, -119.216043)\, and near the Road 39 parking lot in Pasco (46.230559\, -119.143382). \nThe half marathon and 5k courses will both start and finish at the same location as the marathon but will be out and back routes with the turnaround located at the halfway point.   \nClick on the below maps for interactive versions of each course map.   \nNOTE that the courses are still being finalized and may change from what is currently shown.  Please check back occasionally for any updates. He is going to participate in David Goggins 4x4x48 challenge where he will run 4 miles\, every 4 hours for 48 hours. This is his 4th year doing this event and 3rd year partnering with FCA \nI was wondering if 3 Rivers Road Runners would be interested in putting it on your calendar and/or posting about it over social media? \nThe idea is to get people in the community participating in one or more of the 12 different segments.  Yes we are trying to raise funds but we are really trying to get people in the community to run\, walk\, or bike with Brian. \n  \nWhen: Friday March 22nd-Sunday March 24th(Every 4 hours) \n  \nWhere: All 3 Cities! Check out the website for specific locations. The two midnight runs will be held at Richland High School Track and Kamiakin High School Track! \n  \nWhy: To see our community be more active all while supporting Tri-Cities FCA! SUMMARY:Hermiston Resolution Run
DESCRIPTION:https://www.facebook.com/events/876059060602819?active_tab=about \nHermiston’s best free run/ walk is back! We’re ringing in 2024 on January 1st\, 10am @ Riverfront Park.\nAs usual\, you can walk\, jog\, or run the entire Oxbow Trail (about 3.1 miles)\, or choose a distance that suits you. Lots of people (especially with young kids) just do 1 – 2 miles. Pick whatever distance you want! There’s no aid stations on the course but you’ll find water at the finish line as well as some high fives and a photo booth. \nFAQ’s (Frequently Asked Questions)\nWho can participate in the Resolution Run?\n– The Resolution Run is open to everyone. The majority of people walk the Oxbow trail\, but there are lots of strollers\, dogs on leashes\, and kids on scooters. There’s even a group of local artists who are painting special rocks that will be hidden along the path for kids to find!\nHow much does it cost?\n– It’s free! This event is sponsored by local runners & walkers who want to encourage people to connect with their neighbors and meet their health & fitness goals in 2024. There’s no entry fee\, no registration required\, and we’re not taking donations for anything.\nCan I get a T-shirt this year?\n– Yes! A limited amount of T-shirts will be available for presale and whatever is left over will be for sale on the day of the event. We always sell out of these shirts\, so if you want one\, check back on the event page for details in the near future.\nGot more questions?\n– Send me a DM or email me @ timothybeal@gmail.com
