Plutonium Man Practice Swim and Ride

The Port of Benton has agreed to unlock the gate to the low dock barge slip that is the official start of the Plutonium Man Triathlon swim to allow us a practice swim.  This will be Saturday, August 27th.  Meet in the parking lot on the SE side of the WSU Tri-Cities campus (close to Sprout Rd) at 9:30 am to car pool up to the swim start.  As always, bring a floaty with you for safety and visibility to the boaters.

The same day there is a run/bike event to help with Rob Bartol’s recovery from the bad bike crash he had earlier this month.  Folks are meeting for this event at 9:00 am at the Edison St boat ramp in Columbia Park at 9:00 am.  You have time to swing by there and make a donation to pick up a Rob Bartol bracelet and still make it to the Pu Man practice swim and ride.  Lori and Rob had been putting in a lot of time practicing the bike course and were looking forward to this new event this year.  While they won’t be able to do the Plutonium Man this year, we all look forward to seeing them both out there for the 2017 edition of the race.  In the mean time, maybe you could make a donation to help in Rob’s recovery, wear your Rob bracelet with humility and thankfulness, and come swim and ride the Plutonium Man course for Rob on the 27th.  Hope to see you there.  E-mail me at sageg@charter.net with any questions.     Eric
